Households in Canada Continue to Get Smaller Down to 2.5 persons

New news out of the CMHC regarding household formation in Canada. Which has been ever present in the condo booms which are happening across the major cities and towns in Canada. More single people are setting up shop on their own.

In fact due to the smaller household size, more condos which are being built are also being filled. Other information that we gained from the latest survey and study is that currently we have an average of 2.5 persons per household, compared to 3.5 persons per household back in 1971. Another key factor is that 28% of all Canadians now live alone, this is actually double the amount from 1971.
