Looking for Something at Yonge and St. Clair (Imperial Plaza)

Looking for Something at Yonge and St. Clair (Imperial Plaza)

If you know the old Imperial Oil Building at Yonge and St. Clair, then you will be familiar with the Imperial Plaza Condo being designed and developed by Camrost Felcorp. The former headquarters of Imperial Oil which moved to Calgary years ago, to be with the other Oil Giants out there. Now in the hands of Camrost, they will create a true loft experience in the heart of Forest Hill. The building was mostly known for it's glamorous double height lobby, which contained polished marble. It also had to oil paintings, fittingly, called "Story of Oil"

Thankfully, Camrost, has stepped up to the plate and taken the initiative not to let one of the grand buildings of Toronto's Ecomomic Past be left to langish in disrepair. They will now create landmark condos and renovate the entire structure up to 21st century standards. Their project, Imperial Plaza went public last year, and the response has been amazing. As people flock back into the downtown core, to make their commute times a bit more reasonable, the reuse of old buildings is becoming something of an ongoing tread. And Camrost is leading that charge, with this building, and of course their development at Avenue Road and Cumberland, the Yorkville Plazas.
