The Massey Condo Project has become the most facinating condo project proposed in Toronto over the past few years. Not the least of which because of the dream of many skyscraper buffs of the hope that one day a soaring skyscraper would grace the space between the two abandoned bank towers across the street from the Eaton Centre on Yonge. Finally early this year came word that a project was in the works to make our dreams come true. MOD Developments and and it's president and CEO Gary Switzer, planned to refurbish the old Bank Building at 197 Yonge Street and overtop and the north build a soaring and elegant Condo tower.
The Tower will be designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, and will be 60 floors tall and reach a height of 207 meters. It according to the web forums on urban development in Toronto, including the urbantoronto.ca blog and forum has sold relatively well, considering Toronto is going into a sales slowdown from peak sales last year. The building will contain 698 suites, in the art filled forms.
The interior design will be by : Cecconi and Simone
Prices Range from $300,000 to $900,000
Sales centre: 197 Yonge St.,.

“It’s probably the grandest entrance to any condominium in Toronto,” Mr. Switzer states. “And Cecconi and Simone have done a hip version of Edwardian architecture with chandeliers to play on this whole theme.”
Though buyers may not be familiar with the interiors, it is likely many walked past the landmark at 197 Yonge St., which is just steps from hundreds of shops and restaurants in and around the Eaton Centre, major theatres and event venues, as well as several hospitals and universities.
