An Insiders Impression of Shangri-La Toronto

Shangri La Toronto - University Avenue

Well, today has been a very busy day for me, I've been writing my little fingers off with all the latest news from the Toronto Construction and Real Estate Industry, plus I have a day job (sucks!) lol. Anyways, as I call it a day today, I was fortunate to have a friend of mine reach out and tell me about his experiences so far at the Shangri La Hotel and Residences Toronto. But first a little background on the building.....

Shangri-La Toronto is one of the first of the highend 5 Star Hotel Condos to be built in Toronto along with the Trump Toronto Hotel and Tower, Four Seasons Hotel and Residences, and Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residences. It's tall, like really, really tall, especially when compared to the surrounding buildings on University, as it rises 66 Floors and 214 meters into the sky. It's located on the eastern edge of the Toronto Entertainment District and features some high end dining from the likes of master chef David Chang and his Momofuku Restuarant (That sounds like somewhere Shaft would eat, or Samuel Jackson)

Anyways back to my post.. lol! :
Some of the key points from his standpoint being a resident were:

  • The unit is very nice, and it's a reasonable size not huge, but not a shoebox either, and the balcony is one of the key postive aspects of the space.
  • The space is elegant but causual, in a high end sort of way. Refined living meets rustic charm
  • The bathroom in his unit is luxuriously finished in marble
  • The amenties, both hotel and condo, are great, specifically pointed out the viewing room, and the gym
  • The hotel staff is new, but that doesn't stop them from being extremely helpful and friendly.
  • From his perspective, the building appears to improve more and more each day as the kinks are worked out.

Sounds like he made an awesome investment which is sure to pay off over the long run. It's great that he shared some of his feelings with me regarding the development. As the building moves along, there is always hope he will share more info with us here at the Toronto Skyscraper Blog!
