The National Oil Company of Abu Dhabi, announced that is was constructing a new supertall tower to become a landmark development for the wealthy emirate. The constructors of the tower stated their intention to achieve Gold or Platinum LEED Status for enviromental sustainability and also et up a master plan to have the corporate Headquaters set up as an iconic landmark for the United Arab Emirates.
According the the director of design, the term landmark does not in itself mean the building has to be tall or a skyscraper to have importance, but it will be set apart from others in terms of it's size and height, unique materials used during construction, and it's placement within the skyline. The building will serve as corporate headquarters, and a symbol of ADNOC's corporate role and position as one of the most prominent and dynamic oil and gass companies in the world.
