ICE Construction Update - November 21st 2012
Here is the latest from the ICE Development by Lanterra at the corner of Bremner Blvd, and York Street by the CN Tower, ACC and Skydome. This picture is of the tower which will evenutally be the tallest tower on the block. It is currently the shorter tower, as the ICE West ha already reached the 49th floor. This tower looks to be up about 25 floors or so, so it still has about 42 to 43 more floors to go, if the mechanical levels are included. The ICE Towers were designed by the Toronto firm Architects Alliance better known by their nom de voyage : aA.
To the south of this project, Tridel has met with great sales success with their 10 York Development, selling out 88% percent of their first run units. That means this will shortly become the busiest construction intersection in all of Canada. As Menkes is also planning on Starting the Monster Development Harbour Plaza Estates next month, building the office tower, and two condo towers, (which are massive by the way) all on spec. Judging by the sales at Tridel, Menkes probably has little to worry about with regards to the condo sales. And Toronto's office market sitting at just 5% should be enough to protect them from disaster as building on spec usually leads to companies going under (bankrupt) or worst!

Menkes Set to Develop Office Tower in Southcore
Menkes Set to Develop Office Tower in Southcore
South of the Air Canada Centre and Maple Leaf Square sits a vacant lot which is currently being used as a parking lot. Little do the passerbys realize that this is the home of a monster development call Harbour Plaza and One York which will be developed by Menkes and Oxford Properties. The development will consist of two residential towers spiralling 70 floors into the sky and a 35 floor office tower which is currently in sales. The condo residences are in registration mode as the names list fills to meet pre-construction financing numbers. This is not the only tower going up in Southcore at least with regards to office, there is also Bremner Tower and RBC Tower not to mention endless residential developments on the go.
