L Tower is getting closer and closer to completion, and this
is one of the main design mile markers for the Toronto Market. So while Toronto
has been dominate in the construction of condo highrises, there has been little
of note among the built and under construction designs, with the expectation to
the Absolute world Towers in Mississauga. The L Tower was designed by Daniel
Libeskind and is one of the most dramatic forms on the Toronto Skyline, even in
its uncompleted state. The tower is
located near the foot of Yonge, by Union Station, the Hockey Hall of Fame as
well as the Dominion Office Building of the Government of Canada.
Shouldn’t be more than another
couple of months before it’s fully complete, and residents move in as well as
the public amenities and space at the ground level near the sidewalk open up
the corner of Yonge and Front Street. Surely should be something to look
forward to for the area.
