Toronto City Council Rejects the Mirivsh Gehry Condo Towers on King West

Toronto City Council tonight has rejected the massive proposal put forth by David Mirvish and designed by world renown star architect Frank Gehry to build three condo towers of  86, 84 and 82 floors in the heart of the Entertainment District. Also included in the plans was a Museum and Additional schooling space for the OCAD University within the building.

The plan was daring, and bold, but apparently too much for the overloaded infrastructure of Toronto to handle. This is likely not the end for the project, as the OMB appeals process has already started and it could get messy, Adam Vaughan the council for the district in question proposed a delay on the vote so that a review panel could go over the project, and put together planning for the increased density would mean especially to transit and road works in the area.
