Saskatoon Likely to Pass the 300,000 Population Mark for 2013 Census Numbers

Saskatoon Likely to Pass the 300,000 Population Mark for 2013 Census Numbers. It was sitting at 285,000 on the last census and is very likely to be the next big city to pass the 300,000 mark in Canada. Saskatchewan has been the fastest growing province in Canada for the past few years even overtaking the growth rate of mighty Alberta . Saskatchewan is home to many of Canada's most valuable resources and the required human capital to extract those resources has ballooned the population.

On the East coast Halifax has managed to resume fast growth, growing faster and passing St. Catharines in population. St. Catharines is an old industrial city in Ontario known for producing car parts, but as that industry has centralized around the Toronto region, St. Catharines has gone downhill. Other great stories out of the new population numbers show that Winnipeg has become the leader of the just under 1 million cities of Quebec and Hamilton, it grew by an amazing 12,000 people, with a growth rate the same as Vancouver, pretty amazing I must say.

Cities to watch out for are all in Ontario, With Kitchener-Waterloo, and London Denver Realtors both passing the half million mark, and Guelph, Peterborough, and Brantford all added to the CMA list for the first time.

By this time next year, we here in Toronto will have one thing to look forward to as your CMA passes the 6 million mark for the first time, although the Great Toronto Area is already over 6.1 million, and the Golden Horseshoe sits at 7.5 million people. This ranking will give you some great times of triva pursuit.
