Harbourview Estates and Antares Yacht

A quick photo that I took from this weekend when the motoryacht Antares Westport 130 was in town. I did a search on the internet and found it had been sailing along on the Great Lakes for the past few months. Seems that everywhere this yacht goes it seems to cause a commotion. Everywhere that is, except in Toronto. "Nothing to see here, move along."

In the background we also see Queens Quay which made news this week, with government officials touting the new investment to make it into a grand boulevard of Toronto.  Also seen at the left is one of the first towers of the Cityplace Development, called Harbourview Estates 3. The shortest, but arguably the best architecturally of the three Harbourview Estates towers. It is my personal favorite. And makes for a striking silloette on the Toronto skyline. 

I'll be doing a retrospective this week, on some of the completed towers of the Toronto construction boom. So many towers get completed in Toronto every month, it's easy to loose track, but what they add in terms of improved city amenities and the public realm is incalculable. Better sidewalks, streetscaping, and parks, pretty hard to ignore.
