The week that past, we learned that Toronto Condo Sales dipped in December, however this was to be expected after the record year posted in 2011.
Busy week in terms of skyscraper ground breakings as One York by Menkes also broke ground officially. The tower will have 35 floors and raise the level of size for Southcore Towers.
Exhibit Condos developer Bazis International shut down the trusty McDonald's at Bloor and Avenue Road across from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) The exhibit condos striking design should play nicely with the Museum across the street.
The curve on the Aura Condo also began to take real shape this week and the excitement continues to build for what will be the tallest condo ever built in Canada and it getting the nice curtain wall glass.
The Big Pour was a landmark event this weekend as One Bloor the 75 Floor Skyscraper in Yorkville had its concrete foundations built, also got confirmation on the size of this beast which will come on at 75 Floors/ 258 meters and 844 feet.
Very exciting stuff! I've been following these building on urban toronto (I'm know as Hanlansboy there). I pray this current round of cancer doesn't beat me, I'm dying (pardon the pun!) to see how our skyline will look in 10 years! Toronto kicks butt! We are actually overtaking Chicago, birth place of the modern skyscraper, now that's an accomplishment to be proud of!!! And by the way, THANK YOU so much for running this site, I can only imagine how much work it is, but trust me, it's greatly appreciated!!
ReplyDeleteTJ no problems! Its my pleasure. Good luck in your battle, I'll continue to run this site and keep it updated daily. I have thousands of photos on my phone (7000 to be exact) so no worries there! Yes, I have a feeling some of the mega projects will bring Toronto Closer to Chicago as we are outbuilding them 5 to 1 and outbuilding New York 2 to 1.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more of your comments!
