The most unique tall tower that has been constructed in Toronto. Developed by Cityzen this project comes to us from the mind of Daniel Libeskind. He is a world renowned architect and designer. The L tower reaches 57 floors and 205 meters tall. It sits at the corner of Yonge and Front.

The Toronto Condo Boom

Within the past 15 years downtown Toronto has been transformed by the largest urban construction wave since the 1920s and 30's Manhattan building spree that created the likes of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings. Toronto's boom is profound and has lead great and not so great minds to ponder the impact of hundreds of towers and skyscrapers built within the core within a short period of time. There are benefits, yes and there are also concerns of capacity and infrastructure. Which takes precedent? A mobile car free workforce, none transit dependent young professionals or an ageing underground sewer and transit infrastructure that can't keep pace. There's no easy choice I guess, choose one or the other, no in between. Doesn't have to be that way I hope. Look south to that future island in the sea, to see our future. No doubt.

Canada Braces For Housing Slowdown

TORONTO — Long convinced the country’s housing boom would never end in a crash, Canadians have watched this autumn as a sharp slowdown in real estate spreads across the country, leaving would-be home buyers hopeful and sellers scared.

“The power is in the hands of the buyer – that’s what I’m feeling,” said Andria Petrillo, 32, as she and her husband toured a quiet open house in the heart of Toronto, where crowds and chaos once reigned over weekend home showings.

But like most people shopping for a new home, Petrillo has to sell her old one first. And that’s where she worries.

“With the economy, I’d like to sell now. I worry about selling because it’s a condo, and that market is cooling even faster than houses,” said the newly married sportscaster. “We can’t sell it for a ridiculous amount of money any more.”
