Canderel Stoneridge, the same company that brought Toronto the Aura condo is currently working on a new proposal out in Ottawa. By the looks of the conceptual designs, it has a striking resemblance to the ICE condo development in Southcore currently under construction by Lanterra Developments.
The Vibe Condos in Ottawa if completed to spec will actually be the tallest condo towers, and building in Ottawa by a long shot. However they are not in the downtown core or anywhere near the Parliament Buildings. So they won't have to deal with any restrictive height zoning.
The Graziani + Corazza Architects on the project, have promised big things on recent Toronto developments, and yet failed to deliever. So I'm hoping this time, they can at least pull through for Ottawa, and not leave them holding the ball of disaster. Still Ottawa is a city on the up and up, and recently they have commenced construction on a massive urban light rail system that will actually travel through the downtown core in an underground subway.
The first city in Ontario to do this outside of Toronto. So there is some excitment going down in Ottawa, and I'm looking forward to following this development as it progresses.
