Well, if you've been keeping up with this blog over the past month or so, you know that one of my personal desires is for Toronto to become more international and more global. And a side effect of becoming more global, is that your city attracts the affluent from all over the world. They want to be where the action is "So to Speak" They want to come to a city where they can invest their money and it can grow. Well in keeping with the team of money, and international here is a look at the Gumball 3000 Rally which has come to Toronto twice in the past 3 years.

These are worldwide global elite and celebrities, including sports stars that bring their expensive cars on a worldwide tour that sometimes brings them to our fair city. The following pictures are from the years 2010 and 2012 when I was present for both runs, coming through Cumberland and Yorkville in the Bloor-Yorkville Area of Toronto.

The Gumball 3000 as decribed by their site:

Gumball 3000’s audience is unique, appealing to kids in the playground trading Gumball Top Trump Supercars playing cards, to the rich and famous that own and drive the supercars in the annual rally. Through the global language of automobiles and entertainment Gumball 3000 has become an aspirational brand to people of all ages, from all walks of life, regardless of status or wealth. Creating a lifestyle brand that combines sport, music, fashion and cars and with a list of celebrity participants as diverse as Johnny Knoxville to Snoop Dogg, Daryl Hannah to Damon Hill, and Rob Dyrdek to Jodie Kidd Gumball maintains its underground appeal, whilst reaching a mass consumer audience. Also appealing to the luxury market and the lifestyles of the already ‘rich and famous’ this unique ability provides a platform to reach both a mass consumer and high end audience, as well as being able to work with the influential and pioneering of the world.
