24 Lombard a New Tower Downtown Toronto | 50 FloorsHere is a new condo tower being proposed in the downtown core of Toronto on the Eastside of Yonge Street. The project is being put together by Great Gulf Homes, and the location is at 24 Lombard. Great Gulf is best known for the One Bloor East Development which they are currently building in Yorkville. Downtown Toronto is in the midst of a massive condo boom, that I have spoken about at length on my blog. There are many Condo skeptics who have predicted doom for the Real Estate Market in Toronto. They have yet to be proved correct, they jump on the slightest downturn as a sign of a coming Toronto Real Estate Apocalypse.
The photos of the the rendering show it with spot lights on top, and green balconies. The project seems geared towards young professionals, that work in the downtown core, and want to live close to their workplace. Downtown Toronto is accumulating some of the greatest densities in North America outside of Manhattan, in New York City. There are currently 150 highrise towers and skyscrapers under construction in Toronto, the most of any city in North America and twice as many towers as there are under construction in New York City.
