Cumberland Terrace - Basement Shops Closed: Sign of Things to Come

Cumberland Terrace - Skyscraper Proposal.

Still waiting to hear word regarding the long awaited Cumberland Terrace Redevelopment. I've long hoped this could be the site of a supertall tower, in addition to the One Bloor Project, along with Holt Renfrew and 27/37 Yorkville the Minto Parking Deck. The basement shops as you can see in the attached photo, are closed.

If it comes to be it along with the other skyscraper proposals will radically shift the dynamics of the Yonge-Bloor Intersection, along with all of Yorkville:

Yorkville is the prime upscale shopping district of downtown Toronto. It has all the high end stores from Gucci, Prada, and Burberry. It is also experiencing a condo boom, as new projects sprout like weeds, along Bloor, Cumberland and Yorkville Ave. Some projects like 100 Yorkville, and the Hazelton have brought the village of Yorkville scene some new retail, and eatery hotspots.

Location:
  • In place of current Cumberland Terrace, Cumberland Street, Toronto Yorkville Condos
  •   Mixed Use Residential, Commerical and Retail functions all within the building
How Tall: Proposed 45 Storey- 340 Units – Phase 1; 36 Storeys – 196 Units – Phase 2

Completion Date: TBA after approval (Project has not yet been announced, but look for this to become a ground breaking development)

Building & Suite Features:
  • Dramatic Terraces and Spectacular Inner Courtyard
  • Double Glazed Windows throughout exterior
  • Custom Roller Blinds and European Kitchen

  1. Condo Living is getting very popular in the past few years and people love to walk in open space outside of condos. Perla
