Toronto Faces Infrastructure Pinch, And Development Crush

Toronto Faces Infrastructure Pinch, And Development Crush

Is all this downtown development sustainable?; Of course but only if you build infrastructure to accommodate it. Thankfully, the city has invested heavily in transit infrastructure like the Union Station Renovation, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the Spadina Expressway. With all these condos being built, and the new LRT Streetcars, that will be put into service over the next two years there will be transit to support this growth. The development fees charged to developers will increase to sustain the the building of transit and recreational infrastructure downtown. This is what other successful cities have done around the world. This is what Toronto will do to ensure it's long term success and viability.

Density is really the best thing for any city as sprawl is a huge expense to taxpayers and has a huge impact on the environment. We must congratulate all the developers of condos who are building a more dense Toronto and let's hope all of our represenatives in city hall push for greater focus on downtown and sustainable living while at the same time placing  higher taxes on urban sprawl in the Toronto region.

Also,

When the prices of Toronto condos and Real Estate in general is compared to other world capitals, the price here is very low, although it may not feel like it, we must remember that Toronto is a global city with Global Influence and power, and ability for people around the world to purchase properties here for their children to go to school, and benefit from your booming economy is proof positive of that. Toronto is getting ready for another stage of development with Mega Projects at the Convention Centre and King West Proposed,  5 towers over 1000 feet or very near to it. In addition to 1 Yonge Street project, which could top 100 floors when complete. This is a city, that doesn't seem to want to be held back. London, New York, and Paris, please take your notes now!
