Starbucks at Murano Condos Finally Sees Light of Day

The perpetual scaffolding that has surrounded the Starbucks shop at the base of the Burano Condos for what seemed like forever has finally come down.

The controversy surrounding exploding balcony glass caused millions of dollars in repair work and lost leisure time for residents from enjoying their balcony space. Murano Condos built by Lanterra has finally replaced the glass with laminated glass which is safer than the unlaminated glass they had used previously.

The entire exploding balcony glass fiasco caused the municipal and provincial governments to imposed stricter regulations on developers when it came to the type of glass they use on balconies.

In my opinion I don't understand the fixation with glass balconies when it comes to Toronto developers. I understand it is the cheapest building material there is. But what about artistic steel railings. Like the Aqua Tower in Chicago. I think that would be a nice way to spice up a rather bland condo if you ask me.
