Toronto Has The Most Skyscraper Construction

Well known fact by now, or is it? The fact that Toronto has 154 skyscrapers and highrises under construction may be news to some but for those that live here its old news. Toronto over the past 10 years has been building up, a trend fueled in part by a voracious appetite for downtown living by the young and upwardly mobile. Don't get me wrong Toronto has always had its most desirable downtown enclaves like Rosedale, The Annex and High Park, but what we are seeing now is the full onslaught of neighborhood building in an area bounded by the Don River, Bathurst and Dupont/Davenport. So rapid has this development been that the ward of Trinity- Spadina has increased by 25% in the last 5 years alone and downtown Toronto has increased its population by over 100,000 residents. The tallest building completed this far in the boom is Trump Tower Toronto, followed by Bay Adelaide Centre, and Ritz Carlton Toronto. There will be a slew of 200 meter towers completing construction shortly, such as Shangri-la Toronto and Four Seasons Toronto. I am unsure when Toronto took the skyscraper construction title from New York or Miami, likely in the past 6 years, but let's hope the trend continues. As a skyscraper geek this something I would like to see.

Getting a Mortgage and Mortgage Insurance through Aviva Canada for financing a loan to purchase at FIVE Condos is actually a relatively easy process, and new rules from the federal government has required that company include new regulations, which have made the home loan and mortgage process a bit more difficult. Those changes at Aviva Canada include shortening the amortization period for which the loan can be held by the consumer, and the degree to which the property is financed by the mortgage. They have also increased deposit requirements to lift the loan insurance amount. Mortgage insurance from Aviva Canada is actually one of the major financing costs on home loans.
