The reason there has been an influx of condo development in Toronto is two fold, one reason is provincial policy which is meant to restrict sprawling development into farmland/environmental and sensitive land outside the city. This has made owning traditional housing types more difficult or expansive and has forced buyers into the Highrise market. The second reason is that due to the multi ethnic make up of Toronto, it is well known around the world and has drawn in investment capital from people around there world, looking for a safe haven.
