Sitting along the lakefront of the Big Chippewa Lake, the 30-acre Brentwood Lakefront Estate, along with its four estate homes, will sell at an absolute auction on December 4. With over 1,200 feet of lake frontage, the property is divided into eight lots, each with its own home or ready for construction, or it can be purchased as an entirety. J. P. King Auction Company will conduct the sale.
Tom and Barbara McLeod purchased the property undeveloped and quickly built it into a family retreat, where the four homes were used to hold any combination of their eight children and 28 grandchildren that wanted to visit. Nothing proved this more than when Barbara hired a bus and a driver to pick up their grandchildren and bring them to the annual Cousins Camp, where they enjoyed time together along with the recreation the 30-acre property provided, including a talent show in the main home's 15-seat theater.
Four of the eight lots include estate homes designed by Reed Becker of Widseth Smith Nolting, ranging in size from three to five bedrooms. The main estate, located on lot four and part of lot three, features not only four bedrooms and six bathrooms, but also the theater, an indoor pool and hot tub, waterfall feature and an elevator, while overlooking the lake.
Featured last month on Destination America's Epic Castles, Brentwood has become a notable property in the community and surrounding areas.
